Recognition – equal opportunities – participation

The Mobiliversity Blog

Today companies and institutions are globalised, and migrants are an essential bridge between societies. Often when being asked about the asset LBS students and graduates have for the Austrian job market, I would hint to their ability to translate between different (business) cultures. On top of their applied business education, they have proven to be able to live and work in different countries, foreign languages and, above all, in highly intercultural settings. The most crucial prerequisite to benefit from this added value of globally minded people reads as follows: Migrants deserve opportunities and recognition in any given host society. Only migrants who feel welcomed and are increasingly entitled to participate in the labour market and society at large will be committed bridge builders between their homes both old and new. (EK)
